Week 5 EOC: Super Bowl Commercial
The commercial I found to be pretty interesting on the Super
Bowl this past Sunday was the Budweiser ad. I thought it was pretty cute since
the owner of the horse gave it away to someone and at the end, they both meet
again. I know it does not have anything to do with Budweiser, but I thought it
was pretty uplifting to see. “The commercial ranked No. 1 on USA Today's Ad
Meter, a ranking based on fan voting on the USA Today website through Facebook
and Twitter.” (Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/05/clydesdale-commercial-budweiser-name_n_2625562.html).
This commercial did get some attention throughout the social networking sites,
I, personally, loved the message that it sent. I did not know that the horse
that was featured on the commercial was Budweiser’s main icon. “This year’s
Budweiser commercial again features their iconic Clydesdale draft horses, and
it’s one of the best ads we’ve seen from them in years.” (Source: http://www.superbowl-commercials.org/tag/budweiser).
I really thought this commercial was fantastic and very successful for the
company and I know the viewers who saw it enjoyed it as much as I did. Once I
had watched the ad, I knew immediately that this commercial would get some
great reviews from people. The horses’ name in the ad is Hope and the viewers
responded with really wonderful things to say. “’Many of our fans wanted a name
to reflect their optimism and spirit, which the name Hope encapsulates
beautifully,’ Shambro said.” (Source: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/02/05/budweiser-clydesdale-foal-super-bowl-commercial/).
The company didn’t think that this commercial would be a hit, but they were
absolutely wrong. In my opinion, I would say it was the best commercial on the
Super Bowl I have ever seen. Others may not agree with that, but from the
social networking sites, I know people would re-watch it and think twice about
the ad. Here's the video: http://youtu.be/o2prAccclXs.
